One of "The Two Fawns" Returns To Polygamist Life

One of two teenage girls, who gained national attention two years ago when they fled the Warren Jeffs polygamy group, has given up on her new life.

Fawn Broadbent, Sandy Resident: "I'm scared for her because I don't think she really knows exactly what she's done."

She's gone back to her old lifestyle, causing worry and alarm for those who tried to help her escape.

They became nationally known as "The Two Fawns," sixteen-year old friends, both named Fawn, both fed up with a life controlled by polygamist patriarchs.

But almost two years later, one Fawn has apparently found the outside world too difficult. Although she hasn't gone back to Warren Jeffs, Fawn Holm has returned to the polygamist culture.

A week ago she apparently moved in with a middle-age polygamist loyal to another leader.

The other Fawn, Fawn Broadbent, is sticking with her plans to make a go of it in the outside world. She's a senior in high school, having overcome the 4th grade education she was limited to as a follower of Warren Jeffs.

Joni Holm, Fawn Holm's sister-in-law, has been acting as a surrogate parent for both Fawns.

But Fawn Holm left a week ago, saying she just wanted to be a mom and raise babies.

Fawn Broadbent, Sandy Resident: "I’m afraid she thinks the only thing she's worth for is having children. And she's not. She could have fulfilled her dream to become a psychologist, like she's always said she wanted to be."

Joni Holm, Fawn Holm's Sister-in-Law: "When I found out that Fawn left, the very first instinct was to cry. I spent the first two days crying. And then you have the anger and the disappointment. Because she's giving up school. And that's the one thing that's gonna be a big help. And she just walked away from the school."

We'll have more at 10 on why the polygamy lifestyle seems so seductive ... or at least hard to escape from.
