Warren Jeffs Faces Sentencing Today

A polygamist leader with ties to South Dakota is preparing to be sentenced for his role in the rape of a girl.

Jeffs was found guilty on two counts of rape as an accomplice and now faces life in prison. Sentencing for Jeffs is later this afternoon in Utah.

Jeffs' felony convictions are from his arrangement of the marriage of a 14-year-old girl with her 19-year-old cousin.

However, the defense has asked for the case to be thrown out. That could delay today's scheduled sentencing.

While Jeffs could be sentenced to life behind bars, each conviction also has a minimum sentence of just five years.
